Ibanez soloist for Folk Music?

Looking for a very playable neck with good action.

When I was a wee lad playing acoustic by the kiddie pool, acoustics with large gauge string was my jam. Now I have a movement disorder so I pretty much am just now getting back to playing. Acoustics stress my hands, electrics with high action are also a pain.

So.. what is a good guitar for low action but decent range of tonez?

Also. Hello.

For an acoustic? The Martins with the new "high performance taper" are really easy playing...the Mexican models I've played all had really low action and sounded good as well...

And here's the solid body vs the semi hollow

The solid is a little more stratty sounding on the neck, while the semi hollow has a more pronounced mid range.

Oooo it comes in Pink as well.

Think I'd have to swap out the pups?

I was looking at some semi hollows and saw a bunch of used soloists so it made me curious how it'd fit.

btw what do you mean, when you say “soloist”. Because the only soloist I know about is the Jackson

As much as I love acoustics my hands can't do it anymore. :( So purely looking for light touch electrics. My sx telecaster isn't bad but the neck is bulky.

Yeah that's what I was thinking about. :) Jackson soloist or a similar style from Ibanez. Normally used for shred/rock... But the necks are generally good for light touch in comparison to acoustics.

Any properly constructed electric can be set up for low action and light touch. It really depends on the neck profile you prefer. I’m not a fan of shred guitars because I don’t like the wide flat and thin front to back “classical” profile most of them come with. Only good for fast picking, chords on them cramp my hand. YMMV.
Also shorter scales tend to have less string tension than longer ones. Gibson 24.75 vs Fender 25.5.
Something even shorter like a Fender Duo Sonic or Mustang(24”) are probably the lightest tension.

Thanks! I appreciate the input.

I Also know with work almost any guitar can make any sound and a lot of feel is subjective. But it'd be nice without a lot of hassle. :)

As I tell people at work. 'anything is possible with enough time, code and money.. but you probably don't want to wait that long or have to own the issues.'
