Go with the Phillips head when you go to screw it back together--it's a more modern look, but you want the increased grip on the driver head to really bury the screw in there.

It could’ve been worse… That looks like a pretty clean break, and should be easily repaired to where you won’t even be able to tell it ever happened.

Sucks. This sort of thing is exactly why every time I think about getting another SG or Les Paul I let the feeling pass. Can handle the anxiety. Does look like a pretty fixable break.
