I was flipping through channels the other night and came across the ELP 40th anniversary reunion concert. Keith was playing a synth similar to this with patch cords hanging all over it. I'm sure there's a better solution out there now, but I guess guitarists aren't the only ones that like vintage gear.
My feelings toward Moog oscillate.
Emerson, Lake and Powell right? They had a tune in the classic movie MacGruber. Rumor has it Cozy Powell beat out Neil Peart and Ian Paice to play drums on that album. Not really. They did have quite a few P's to consider though. Mike Portnoy was in diapers. Lucky Man holds a special place for me from the real ELP. I know it's their popular song, but still.Same. ELP shit is cringe-worthy to me.

On a side note, Cozy Powell kicked ass! I have his vinyl record Over The Top. R.I.P. Cozy!
They've always been hit and miss for me. Back in the 70s I was really into prog bands like EL&P, Yes, etc. Even back then I thought they're albums were about a 50/50 mix of good and bad. As I watched some of that anniversary concert on AXS, I was reminded of that again. Flashes of great songs wrapped by too many minutes of keyboard noodling.Same. ELP shit is cringe-worthy to me.

My buddy studied under Aaron Copeland, who, when asked about Keith Emerson, said that he (Keith) could "play my music much better than I could play his." Not sure if that's a compliment or not.
