hot or hot : black squier CVC tele

I'm half and half. I dig my cv tele but I like the white over pine better.

Don't get me wrong. I think it is very, very nice. Hot even. I just prefer a different color for myself. I am sure that will be a very nice tele. Also, I like the alder body and alnico V specs with rosewood board on that one. Mine is the same and i really like it.

I dig it.

But, if I get another squier, it will be this one:

change out the pickguard and saddles, maybe the pickups.

I like the VM 72 Tele ala The Keef.

change the saddles perhaps but keep the bridgeplate. I use one on my Broadcaster, its slightly thicker than a Pat Pend bridge for more beef/less twang.

$5 bridgeplate + $60 (glendale) saddles=tone

this'll sound dumb (new for me, I know), but I really liked the one that the Karate Kid played in that movie Crossroads.

that, to me, is the ideal Tele.

what does CVC stand for?

in mid 1959 Fender came out with the telecaster custom which had double binding, and a 5 hole, 3-ply pickguard. Thats what the CVC is basically a mid 59 Tele Custom RI (by summer of 1959 they were using 8 hole guards, so a US62RI or CIJ62 Custom would cover those years.)

but these new CVCs have an 8 hole guard, and matching headtsock so they arent a specific RI any more.

here is mine, with Fralin Stock pickups
