Have you ever forgotten that you own a certain guitar?

Most of you know I own a USA Steinberger (strat-style). When the musicyo website (Steinberger & Kramer back then) was shutting down, I bought one of the strat-style Steinberger Spirits for cheap as they were getting rid of their stock. Normally something like $349, these were in the $200s but it was 'as is, no returns'.

Anyways, the gig bag it came in is small, and it got put in a closet, and then things got put in front of it.

I was looking for an adapter today, and came across it. Oh crap! I forgot I owned that!

Neck is still straight. Frets need a polish and needs new strings.

So, kinda a HNGD! :embarrassed:

Mine is black, H-S-H. Looking them up on reverb, the plain ones are asking for $1,000 now! the flamed top Spirits even more.

It happens to me on an embarrassing frequency. :embarrassed:

I was just checking my paint bench the other day and forgot I have an 8 string that I bought to refinish. Neck is all painted and the primer is on there just waiting for a bit of wood filler for a big ding in the front (why I got it for a steal). :helper:

Reminds me of the movie Folks. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104283/

Tom Selleck's mom is in the hospital, so nobody to watch his dad, that has dementia, Don Ameche. Tom goes to Florida, where they live. FBI thinks he is trying to flee the country because, they are running a sting at the board of trade, where he works. Funny, funny movie, can't recommend it enough. Anyways, every time Don sees Tom, he is overjoyed to see him because, he doesn't remember that he was already there. Makes dementia almost something to look forward to. HRediscoveredGD.

I did forget I had a Martin Backpacker for a while, until I stumbled on it in the closet.

Which maybe doesn't count, the Backpacker is stretching the definition of "guitar" quite a bit.

I had forgotten about a guitar we bought my son when he was in elementary school. It's a cheap, small-sized, nylon-string classical. I found it in the closet a few weeks past. The bridge has become detached from the body.

I should probably throw it away, but that's not in my nature. I'm going to try one of my boneheaded repair ideas on it. :embarrassed:

Needs a Floyd.

Not exactly, but as most of my gear is stored in a deep cupboard which is awkward to get into it for various reasons, the stuff already out gets thought about first and used mainly. It takes forethought to plan an excavation to retrieve something else and do the occasional rotation.
