Yes please!!! Would prefer a lower price given the stripped down nature...

I actually kinda like that. It would be better with a single coil at the neck though :embarrassed:

It's kind of weird, but I like it. Would also prefer a neck pickup...either single or humbucker, I don't care.

What is the second knob on the upper wing for? I assume that the lower one is volume - is that a tone knob??

i think the one on the horn is volume, and the one by the bridge is tone. Gretsches usually have a volume knob for each pickup, and then a master volume in that lower horn. sometimes they have a master tone knob, but others it is a 3 way switch located next to the pickup selector on the upper horn.

here's the Malcolm II, which has the tone switch as described above:

The controls being spread out over the whole front of the guitar kind of bothers me. Those two toggle switches or whatever they are look like they'd be in my way every time I got overzealous with a powerchord strum...which happens pretty often. :embarrassed:

I like it...it's the perfect reflection of the man it's designed for...simple basic and rock solid...:thu:

that's why i haven't bought one. i need better picking technique to not get in the way of that tone switch.
