Gibson might actually be LEARNING something!!!

I really wish I could love the Heritage headstock. It's shallow of me to feel that way, and it 's the only thing keeping me back from full-on lust.
I'm with ya on the headstock. I guess it's supposed to be the inverse, or mate if you will, of the Gibson open-book shape. Even so, If I had a spare $3k laying around, I'd snag one of those. It may not be full-on, but there is lust.

I think Gibson is actually learning a few things. The new Studio Session LP’s show design changes. Also, they come with better pups, ‘57 Classic HB’s. The Grover tuners are a step up as well. Of course, it all comes at a higher price, $1999.

Look at the back cutaway near the neck joint. (Edit) Turns out the headstock is the standard breakaway design…oh well. It does have some other nice features.

That seems like a better guitar than a Les Paul standard for less money. The only thing it’s missing is body binding and a flashy top.

AFAIK the headstock is standard on the Studio Session LP. But, the guitar has ebony fretboard, push pull pots with coil split and out of phase. Also, it has ultra modern weight relief and the tuners are slightly different from the Studio model.
