It can break out as individual string outputs for recording with the most modern DAW’s. LPX even includes Native Instruments’ Guitar Rig 4 so you can explore unique sonic dimensions.
Unlimited Possibilities
Dial up one of the 55 sensational preset sounds, tweak them with onboard controls, or use the included computer editor with the G-Node for Mac or Windows that lets you surgically edit existing sounds, tunings and pickups or create new ones from scratch. Shuttle and share custom patch sets in and out of the LPX, and more.
Body and Neck
The body of the Gibson LPX is made from solid Grade-A mahogany (routed to receive the LPX’s extensive internal electronics), and capped with a gorgeously figured Grade-AAA maple top in high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. A one-piece, quarter-sawn Grade-A mahogany neck is carved in the popular SlimTaper profile and topped with a fingerboard of Grade-A granadillo for superb tone and playability.
Internal Effects
Effects include multiple types of distortion, amps, and cabinets along with compression, noise gates, dual delays (including reverse delay), individual 9-band parametric EQ for the magnetic and piezo pickups (with pickup mixer), signal path 9-band parametric EQ, and output 31-band master graphic EQ, a chorus/flanger, reverb, octave, wah, tremolo, looper, and Gibson’s exclusive Digital Varitone ‘morphable’ user-programmable tone control.
Pickups
All the familiar Gibson sonic depth, resonance, and sustain is transmitted through three revolutionary new takes on traditional magnetic pickups along with a piezo-loaded Tune-o-matic bridge for acoustic-like sounds. The LPX neck and bridge pickups are made with Alnico V and Alnico II magnets respectively, while the LPX middle pickup carries a ceramic magnet. All offer unprecedented power and fidelity and the ability to capture an astounding range of humbucker and single-coil tones.
Outputs and Computer Interfacing
Just by connecting the standard 1/4 inch output jack to a standard guitar amplifier you can already imagine the sonic possibilities. Alternatively, split your output through a stereo splitter cable inserted into the jack to broaden your horizons or incorporate the bevy of accessories included with the LPX to go beyond what any traditional guitar can do.
