Giacomo Turra

Gak Pernah Cukup!

So have you guys been following this?

It's all over the guitar YTosphere.

Bad Giacomo, bad. No soup for you!

What is especially sneaky is how he often gives veiled credit to the original artists, but it's buried deep in the comments and uses terms like "inspired by" instead of "lifted from". All that aside, the guy can play, but apparently cannot come up with original ideas. Odd given his technical skills.

Guy has no skills. Beato interviewed him but didn't air it cause the guy can't play...

Like most drama on the interwebs its a tempest in a teapot. Guys a scumbag but there are way bigger scumbags worthy of our scorn. That shithook Honkridge for example. Total tool

Whoah, so not only was he stealing the music/solos, but he wasn't even playing them? So the whole thing is a scam...what a lowlife.

He was playing the solos, but with a large amount of post production to make him appear better than he actually was. Clever editing and playback speed manipulation.

There's clips of him actually playing at NAMM and it's pretty pedestrian.

I have a vague understanding of this controversy. I have not watched the video that called him out. I don't follow the guy, nor the players he stole ideas from. I did watch a Beato video regarding the subject, because it was short. I'm not planning to invest more time in this controversy. Hopefully, the guy pays a price for his behavior.

There's always that pedalboard doctor vertex guy.

The Adam Neely video that Mr Beato references is a good watch.

Given the number of people desperate to become self-employed as social media content creators these days, is any of this surprising?

I wonder if someone could carve out a niche as a content critic? I like the idea better than content creator. Instead of trying to come up with new ideas for content each week, you could simply prey upon those who've already created content with critiques of their work. :thu:
