I had the USA version for a few years as my only guitar until I got a wild hair and sold it to begin the recent multiyear odyssey on the guitar-go-round that has finally settled down.
The model in general is pretty simple and hard to mess up. I found myself not super into the P90/HB combo—but mostly because it didn’t readily make the sounds I wanted because I almost always want access to classically “Fender” chimey clean sounds and it’s not built for that. Also, the chunky stock USA G&L frets aren’t my preference.
I wouldn’t be opposed to one if I was looking for a rock and roll plank. The looks are cool, but given that it’s standard Fender scale it’s not terribly different than playing a tele or a Reverend or any myriad other bolt on, hard tail guitars.
