Let’s Get Obtuse!
I followed the nonsense about the fest when it blew up. (Music fests are a pet interest.). Watched the Netflix doc last night.

I know they portrayed Billy Fyre as basically a madman, but that’s been my experience of working at small businesses and around entrepreneurs in general. Most of them don’t get that far up shit creek, but that self-regarding delusion and disdain for reality is pretty much late stage capitalism’s operating system.

And I totally felt for the dude who said that by solving problems they were just enabling the larger scam. And people wonder why the US has a suicide rate that is off the charts.
 
I was very unsure of where Billy's hubris stopped and the narcissistic solipsism of the attendees began.

Watching those two parties 'find' each other was like a science lesson in enzyme pairing.

Boy howdy. I’m not certain why the UN didn’t drop a dome on the place when all those folks were there to contain the human plague.

He got the juice to start up a fraud festival supporting a fraud app from his experience running a fraud credit card, and when he finally got in the soup, he started a fraud VIP ticket broker to try to dig out. I doubt he's representative of entrepreneurs, except in the vaguest sense, and he bears no resemblance to the small business owners I know.

I want to see the Hulu one, as I found out the Netflix one was supported by the crapass ad agency masquerading as a comedy site that promoted the festival, and therefore almost certainly under-represented their own jackassery.
 
Why does the US have suicide rates that are off the charts? The Fyre festival. It totally makes sense.

Try the Six Fingered Dwarfism Fest. They can’t buy their gloves at the store like the rest of us but they can pick geetars and banjos like crack ridden ferrets. It’s quite a show man!
