Found this neck joint comparison VERY interesting....

A guy on the Gear Page was routing the neck pickup cavity on his PRS SE One import guitar to accomodate some different pickups and here's what he found...

Note... this isn't a $2000 PRS... it's one of the $485 Korean made guitars.

For comparison... here is his 2005 Epiphone Sheraton (also made in Korea)

your looking at the neck joint underneath the pickup. the PRS is fitted, snug, and without excess glue. the Epi is a clusterfuck that looks like it was routed with a rusty claw hammer and glued together by retarded orangutangs...

Fixed. :helper:

The SEs are some very nice guitars. I find the pickups uninspiring, but the guitars themselves are a tremendous bang for the buck.

Agreed. I had a singlecut that couldn't be faulted. I just didn't bond with it.

I'm going to pull the pickups out of my Dot this weekend to replace them and the wiring harness. I wonder what I'll find in there. It's from China, so....

you guys realize that the most common mod to guitars is changing the pickups, right?

Yep, but it wasn't the pickups that were the problem for me. I couldn't find a string gauge that felt right. Maybe I just don't get on with the PRS scale length?...though I didn't have that problem with my Custom 22  :embarrassed:
