Fender Modern Player Tele: What's the scoop?

I can't keep up with all the different brands of fender and gibson products out there. I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I saw zzounds listing the Fender Modern Player Tele for $375.

Are these squiers with a fender logo? What's the deal?

I like the pickup combination. IMO, the bridge should be swapped out for one of these:

I really think that there's something "tele-like" about the pairs of strings pressing down on the same saddle that's different than 6 individual saddles, but I love the humbucker in the bridge.
