Christ Fender is full of shit.

“The Fender Roasted Earth is the result of more than two years of research and development…” if it actually took them two years to buy a PRS and knock it off they’ve got some real idiots in Fender R&D. A Chinese guitar factory could have done the R&D for this guitar in an afternoon.

“Some of the more distinctive specifications include the headstock shape…” I’m pretty sure they’ve been using that headstock shape longer than the people running Fender have been alive. It hasn’t been distinctive in decades.
