Got an email from Sweetwater, had the MXR Duke of Tone pedal available for pre-order. Thought wow, didn't think MXR was "one of those". Lots of King of Tone clones on Amazon/Ebay but, this is an Analog Man collaboration.

After listening to all the samples isn’t it just

The demos sound decent, but based on the blue side of my Protein, BBreaker circuits just don’t do it for me other than as a very low gain “always on” deal, and theres a half doz other pedals in my collection that do that just as well. I would for sure buy the MXR version before I’d shell out and wait for a KOT. I’d be way more likely to do that for a Sunface but I’d prob have to go thru too many of them to find the right one.

Mine arrived today. From a quick 10 minute test, the distortion setting is my favorite, but I’m not sure I’d call it distortion. It’s a more a medium OD to my ears.
