do you ? I was there....how about you ? ...and why don't they have this stuff anymore ? TRhe thrill of victory and the agaony of defeat. Instead we have faux sports like the Superbowlcommercial. This was real sports!

Not from having watched it, but I remember it.

And no way is that guy Hunter S. Thompson, he looks way too healthy and isn't smoking a cigarette on a filter. :grin:
 
I remember it being on, I'm sure I watched it. It was on either before or after That's Incredible! or they ran a lot of commercials for it during That's Incredible! What I'm saying is I used to watch That's Incredible! when I was a kid.

I also really liked ABC's "The Superstars" which was basically a "world's greatest athlete" competition. I loved Wayne Grimditch, the waterskier, going up against all those football players, track stars and etc.

 
And of course I loved the old "Wide World of Sports". Cosell would piss me off, in a good way. Especially with Ali. And I liked the Indy and open wheel car segments, and skiing. The battle of the Network Stars show was fun too. I liked to see which star had that thing that helped in a situation like that.
 
I was in love with Kristy McNichol back then. Of course I was only 7. She could paddle an inflatable kayak like no one else could.
 
Oh, yeah, I remember that show. Lynda Carter taught me what an erection was in the debut season.
