Decaying churches in the middle of a forest

When you're walking through the woods and come across the remains of an old stone church. Inspired by @Mark Wein's https://markweinguitarlessons.com/forums/threads/decaying-barns-on-the-side-of-the-highway.96155/ thread.

Complete with a creepy old graveyard out back. I didn't get any pictures of that.

Where is that? That's the kinda thing you see in Europe a lot, but much less often in the US.

It's what is left from the old settlement of Daniels, MD. There was a town and a mill there in the early 1900s but got wiped out by a flood and never rebuilt. The church is up on a hill and burned in 1926 and was left to crumble. Some of the graves are still visited though, as a few had artificial flowers on them.

The Mrs. and I went for a hike along the Patapsco river last week.

Here are some links if you want to learn more about the area.

..and the church, specifically, http://www.thefirering.com/ROP_Stanislaus.php

The foundation of the old mill is still visible in the side of the hill down by the river.
