Anyone planning on playing this? I likely won't because i just don't have the time. I used to play the table top role playing game waaaaaaaaay back in the early 90's though. It was fun and it seems many elements and even characters have been carried into the game. One aspect of the game that I recall was really cool was the notion of how much humanity a character had. The more cybernetic body implants and stuff a character had, the more their humanity dropped. Lower humanity affected certain other character aspects negatively (can't recall what because it was a long long time ago). Very interesting concept though in the age of smart phone addiction and social media fucked up-ness.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt. It is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on 10 December 2020. Adapted from the Cyberpunk franchise, the story takes place in dystopian Night City, an open world with six distinct regions. Players assume the first-person perspective of a customisable mercenary known as V, who can acquire skills in hacking and machinery, an arsenal of ranged weapons, and options for melee combat.

Cyberpunk 2077 is being developed using the REDengine 4 by a team of around 500, exceeding the number that worked on the studio's previous game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015). To assist with production, CD Projekt launched a new division in Wrocław, Poland, and partnered with Digital Scapes, Nvidia, and QLOC. Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith was a consultant, and actor Keanu Reeves has a starring role. The soundtrack features music by Marcin Przybyłowicz and several licensed artists. Adaptations include a comic book series, card game, and an anime.

I’ll probably do the shitty parent thing and buy it for my nine year old who LOVES violent games.

I saw last night that they bumped the release date to 11/12 to match the PS5 release. I won't be getting a PS5 in the first run so I'll wait to get it when I finally get my PS5. Probably next Christmas. That way I'll have a nice new library to look forward to.

12/11. December.

So I played for about four hours last night. If you enjoyed the Witcher 3, I think you'll love this. Also, character creator gives is incredibly detailed, right down to multiple types of crotches/equipment.

I have been looking for something new. I might download this tonight and play over the weekend. I wanted to like the Witcher 3 but I couldn't get into the battle controls. In fairness I didn't give it much of a chance but I got frustrated pretty early on and never took the time to really learn it.
Is that gonna be an issue in Cyberpunk?

Uhh, I'm playing on MNK instead of a controller, but like Witcher 3 there is a learning curve to combat, in stringing together combos, blocks, and takedowns when in melee/sword combat. If you're using a pistol/smg/shotgun, not an issue. There is a much better combat tutorial that is replayable in a training mission. If you're worried about not digging the combat, I'd spec into guns and hacking instead; you can actually pull up your hacking console mid combat and overload electronics, trigger spotlights, even turn turrets against their owners. It's definitely the type of game that can be overwhelming at first, just take your time and read everything, try what you want to try, and SAVE OFTEN.

Makes sense. I was 60 hours into Skyrim before I really "got" how to play efficiently. Now I've put over a thousand hours in.

Yeah, Skyrim/Fallout combat is simple in comparison to this. I just think that firearms in particular negate some of that difficulty, the biggest change is learning how to juggle tech while fighting, If you ever played Mass Effect 1/2, the quick actions are similar to that.

I'll wait for the price drop. Looking forward to Dying Light 2, though. Almost done with a full replay, including DLC.
