Custom Strat Pickguard with two Tele neck pickups!

vintage clubber

You gunky!
So I got this pickguard a while back that was supposed to be cut for a tele set and it was erroneously cut for two tele neck pickups. I posted on HC SPAM for a few months and got no interest. I got a nice deal on a couple of unknown tele neck pickups with alnico magnets last week and figured what the hell, why not wire it up and see how it works? I did end up having to swap the hot and ground connections on the neck pickup as it was out of phase with the bridge. Added benefit is that it is now hum cancelling in the middle position!

Cool! I like it!

I had a class 5 combo, early model. I had one of the ill fated terrible buzzing models. Officially killed any future Marshall purchases in addition to two other bad experiences with made in Britain marshalls. It sounded killer as a head though!

Mine had the same issue and I picked up some rubber tube dampener rings from eurotubes. That pretty much resolved it.

I've had a hardon for Nashville teles for several years (have yet to buy one, but...) and I think it would be the epitome of irony to bring a Nashville tele and a strat with that pickguard to a gig. It might get a good laugh out of folks who know a thing or two about guitars.

I'm considering selling the assembly. It would be drop in ready with only the output jack and trem claw solder joints to be connected. I will hopefully get a you tube demo of it in the next few days.
