My Ovation and the Aria ZZ Deluxe were back there chilling. What's the guitar hiding behind the synthesizers?
Me too!Man I love that Firebird.
The blue ASAT did indeed go rogue for a while in my stupid storage room full of gear and cases not currently in use. I also couldn't find that black Showmaster. They were together in hiding. Clever bastards.Didn't you lose one of those?
That is the Samick I recently mentioned in another thread. One Bass to rule them all. It is so good, so perfectly balanced, so beautifully constructed etc that I got rid of every other Bass I owned. Probably my 2nd best ever pawnshop find.what's that green bass?
That's not a Floyd! It's a stock Fender System 1 Locking Trem on its proper host... 1986 MIJ Fender Contemporary Telecaster. Yer killin' me smalls!Fender tele with Floyd would suit me well.
It is a neck through. I honestly know almost nothing about it beyond it being a Samick. I've tried searching for info on it, but come up empty. The sheer proliferation of Samick gear and a wonky serial number system makes identification very difficult. It has no model name on it. All I know, is that when I first saw it, I was pulled in like a tractor beam. The coloring and finish is mesmerizing. I picked it up and could instantly "feel" that it was a quality instrument. It's stout, and solid as a rock. Even with the disgusting grungy old strings it had at the time, it played better than any Bass I've owned including a $2K Warwick. The electronics are passive, but hugely versatile, and at some point in its previous life it got a Seymour Duncan bridge pup. It likely is from the 90s. I just know I had to have it. It was at the pawnshop I've been frequenting for 30+ years and the owner is super cool. Walked out with it for $130.Looks like a mid nineties Samick bass, is it neck through? Same series as my Samick Prophet which was a very well built instrument that was just not timeless looking and I outgrew it.
Not mine but close except mine had a 5 way switch. Mine also had hotrail types in the neck and middle. It is a neck through. I honestly know almost nothing about it beyond it being a Samick. EDIT: I'm up to 14 basses (including specialty basses) and 15 electrics (including the new SG). When will it be enough? Who knows?
I'm certainly not immune to GAS, and I'm the worst money manager on Earth. If not for my wife I'd be broke. There's rarely a time I walk into a guitar shop and don't see something I can't live without. It's taken time and maturity to learn to resist the impulse, but I've gotten much better. I'm fortunate in so many ways and have been blessed with opportunities that for the most part I'm not torn between buying something stupid or paying a bill. I don't take that for granted because it wasn't always the case. Still, I feel guilty when GAS wins, even if it's a very small purchase. The struggle is real.Even if you choose wisely, you are doomed to suffer eternal. GAS is an expensive disease.
I now have almost my dream collection of instruments. Still, I ordered a Gibson SG last night. I don't need it. But I want it and can afford it. I know that I'm lying to myself whenever I say that I'm done buying instruments.

Thanks! That's just the beginning of the collection. The "daily players" so to speak. Pretty much just the stuff I use often enough to parole them from the dungeon. Occasionally, something will rotate out in favor of something tucked away. Oh, and the synths... I've barely started to assemble my synth rig in that room. It's going to be ridiculous by the end of the week.I would love to sit down and play all of your stuff. Solid collection and the space looks dope!
