They are kind of interesting I guess, but if I'm spending $15,000 on art I'm going to be looking elsewhere.

Like that one article said, it looks like these were never done as "art," but for his own benefit. We'd never know about him at all if a dumpster diver hasn't found his notebook.
The stories he wrote about the flying machines are fascinating, though.
At the time, there was an X Prize of sorts out there for the first powered flight, so interest was high and widespread.
I dig the artwork, though. It's pretty cool sci fi stuff to me. I love 19th century ideas about the future.
