A 148 hp Alpine Renault A310 V6 goes from 0 to 60 mph in 7 seconds. Not bad for '77. As a reference point, a 300 hp, 2019 AWD Dodge Charger (automatic transmission) goes from 0 to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds.

That's quicker than most average vehicles on the road today. But, of course, it's not all that quick when you consider fast cars of today, particularly, electric models.

With that clutch and a manual transmission, I'd love to take that Renault for a spin. Few cars are available with manuals these days. Manual transmissions were all I used to drive. They're fun. Even my turbo charged, 4 cylinder Audi A4 with manual was fun. IIRC the 1.6T engine created about 175 hp and 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds.

Here, a manual transmission vehicle is considered a theft deterrent.
Oh, I know the struggle. When I first went back home from Germany in 97 I was looking for one. Actually found one, but it was an 85 BMW 535i, in Johnstown PA, nearest BMW dealer or service center was 50 miles away. No thanks when I wasn't even sure I could find a job.

Would have been a very fun car though, my 83 525i was much quicker than it said on paper.
