Car of the Week: 1963 Buick Riviera

[not many pics on this one, but it's a pretty nice looking ride, yymv.]

Full disclosure: We LOVE 1963 Rivieras. A few years ago we got a ride in one for a photo shoot and a feature story on a car with an interesting background. Immediately, the '63 Riv went on the bucket list of cars we'd love to own some day.

This one is a fantastic 48,000-mile beauty with all the right stuff and finished in gorgeous black. Geez, these were nice cars!! We wouldn't change a thing!

This wonderful Buick will be up for grabs at Mecum's big Glendale, Az., auction March 16-19. As usual, there a mind-boggling array of amazing cars on the Mecum menu, but our wish list is going to start with this one!

[i'm not adding the "read more" on this one because this^^ IS all there is to read.]

It kinda reminds me of the car that Patrick Swayze buys in Roadhouse.

Was that one maybe a later model? The front grills look similar, other than the hidden lights that the Roadhouse car had.

i think you're referring to the 1965 model

the '65 is pure evil looking

My grandfather owned Riviera's. One from in that time range. I think the '65. And then an early 70's one with a big pointed tail. It was less cool than the 60's one, but managed to be less ugly than some of the early 70's cars.

Had a neighbor with one of that gen Rivs. It's not in pristine shape but it's not bad.

It got shot up in a drive-by a few months ago. I guess one of the residents of his household is gang affiliated and it's not uncommon that they shoot up each others cars & house as a warning.
