*sigh*

I have the money to buy one and it wouldn't hurt my finances to do so, wonders if I should pull the trigger on one whilst there is time.........

I wonder where players like Michael Romeo (Symphony X), Tom Englund (Evergrey), Olof Morck (Amaranthe, Dragonland), Matthias Eklundh, etc. will go to?

Here's one for Mystix

They had some cool looking guitars, but are as expensive as a lot of high end jacksons (and the designs are pretty similar), and much harder to find. I guess there is a limited market for the 2K plus superstrat market, and it is already well saturated. They arrived a little late to the party.

I read a thread about this on the 7-string forum a couple of hours ago. The majority of the posters (about 65-70%), said that they're not surprised, that it's happening. Most of them had owned or at least tried out Caparisons at one time or another, and felt that while they were nice guitars, they weren't significantly nicer than Ibanez Prestige, Jackson Custom, etc., to warrant their high price tags. Some posters felt their quality was below that of other guitars you could buy for much less. Here's the thread if you're interested in the read:

I guess if I was one for that type of guit I'd look up Mayones and see if I could deal. they're basically along the same lines I think.

The volume knob is in the way....

Actually, I do have a problem with the Strat volume placement, but if it's about an inch or so away from the string I dont :embarrassed:

I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on one of those Horus HGS Maples...the one like the top photo I posted, but with the clock inlays (the U.S. version has the inlays, the earlier 'Japan-only' model had a plain maple f/b, no inlays, like posted).

There is one still for sale at one of the 'official' Caparison dealers...trouble is my credit card doesnt go that high, limit-wise, so I'll have to call them and work something out so they dont sell it before hand.

Not exactly a huge surprise...their presence in the market was limited at best and with Japan's economy hitting the crapper after the quake, it's gotta be tough to keep going. I've checked out a couple at guitar shows in the past and as much as I wanted to like them based off everything I read online, I'd still opt for something else.
