Callaham V/N Model Strat Bridge Tremolo

Chad

Slender Hobbit
I picked this up a couple weeks ago for a guitar I have, but the mounting holes didn't line up, so I'm not gonna need it. It does fit Warmoth 6 hole bodies, but I guess Squires have a little different hole spacing. String spacing is 2-1/16 and it comes with the shorter David Gilmour arm (not the super short one they have).

$125 shipped, US Weiners.

For others who may need to figure out their trem spacing needs.....

Made in Mexico Strats and PRS (Mann made) tremolos have the slightly narrower spacing of the six pivot screws.

USA Fenders with 6 point trems have a wider spacing. They can be filled and redrilled, but it's a pain and easier to use the correct bridge out of the gate.

I have a block like this and have written "PRS" and "Fender" on the two sides...., and I think mine also has a four hole setup for drilling Tele mounting plates. If you guys get one of these, put several pieces of masking tape on the guitar body to A) draw centerlines and scale length markings, B) keep the block from scratching the paint. To use, a little double stick tape works well... but I've debated about putting long arms that go out to the wings to clamp it against the body. Besides marking the trem post holes, it's got some thickness which makes it easy to use a hand drill and keep the holes vertical.

Not shopping for this one, but I though I would clarify for others...the V/N model is "Vintage/Narrow".
  • Screw spacing is 2-7/32", made to fit vintage-spec Fenders, AVRI, and post-2006 MIM Standard, Deluxe, Roadhouse, Lone Star, and Blacktop. But, ...
  • Saddle spacing is the modern, narrower 2-1/16"
We used an V/N on my son's Warmoth build, and it's great, it really helps add a little more room between the string and the edge of the fretboard.

I slapped a V/N on my USA Malmsteen which is notorious for the high e slipping off the neck. The V/N fixed that right up. Great bridge

Nice tool. Where did you get it? I could use something like that.

Yeah, even one hole would be great. I have no drill press, nowhere to put one, would really like one for all the string through holes in a Tele.

I think I got mine on Ebay years ago, and do yourself a favor and write on the different sides which measurement is which... they're not easy to tell apart at first glance.

I also used a very precise ruler to etch a center line on mine

Also, never set it directly on the finish. I tend to put double stick tape on it most of the time anyways so I don't need to worry. Now that I think about it... I think I should put a big sticker or something on the large flat side that faces each direction. That make it easier to see/orient with my old blurry-ass eyes.
