Blowin' Fuses

Okay, first I have to own up. In recent years I have one by one sold my classic tube amps as I found myslef more and more content to soley use my Line 6 Duoverb with its extraordinary ability to get any sound I am looking for. (or for that matter, two of 'em at a time)

I know, I'm an idiot. Likely a deaf idiot. But none the less its true, Out went the tube driven Marshalls, the first year silverface Deluxe reverb. The old Dano practice amp. Indeed the only 'classic' that remains is my early `80s Silverface Twin Reverb. And it that one that has now started blowing fuses.

Basically this amp has sat little used. (See above and spit) Is there a likely (and simple) reason why it'd suddenly start to blow fuses?

Maybe not. Maybe it'll have to have a full shop diagnosis. But there is no harm in asking...

Thanbk you Telecaster911. Are these hard wired in or or they the tube-like removable 'cans'?

They are hard wired in. Fixing it is just a re-cap, but best left to a tech if you aren't comfortable with working with the high voltages in there.

It could also be a power tube, but every time its happened to me, a recap fixed it.

Maybe try power tubes if you have some around.
