bison chased by grizzly

Those are pretty cool pics!


I was about 30 feet away from this grizzly when I snapped the pic (I was closer than what the pic makes it look to be)

Me, about 100 other people, and two ranger with guns were that close, anyways :embarrassed:
 
I think any proximity to a grizzly is probably closer than you should be to a grizzly.
 
I think the bison owed the bear some money perhaps?


I went out to Yellowstone some time ago - before kids. It was beautiful! Saw some grizzly out there as well and tons of bison. And the stars at night were quite a show amongst themselves. no light pollution filtering them out all the way to the horizon. Magnificant.

We hiked about 12 miles into the woods and I remember the mosquitos so big you could ride them and having to tie our food up into a tree so the bears wouldn't get it. It would be 70 degrees during the day and you roll out of your tent the next morning with snow on the ground.

Damn - I've grown soft since then.
