Bifold closet doors are the work of the devil.

Too Controversial To Have An Athleisure Line
It wouldn't have been so bad, but our closet openings are not standard size. So we had to disassemble the panels and rip a bit off each side, then prime, paint, reassemble, and install. Well, they were still a little too wide to open without getting hung up (even though we thought our calculations were good). So we had to do it all over again on the hinged edges (the outside edges had hardware too close to the edge to rip again). And whoever designed the opening mechanism for these things must have been a descendant of the Marquis de Sade. But they're in now and just need touch-up paint. And Mrs. Walt is happy.

Sounds like a fun weekend......

Home improvement projects never go as planned, or work right the first time. At least not for me....

Can I tell you a secret? Unless you special order those doors for your opening, it is 10 times easier to widen or shorten the opening to standard than it is to fuck with those doors.

I scoffed when my brother-in-law told me...I mean, moving and/or adjusting an interior door frame is a big deal, right? Nope. It's easy.

One day, I'm going to move the door to my bedroom just to screw with the wife.

We have bifold doors for one of the entrances to the master bath, because there's no clearance for a regular door. If I weren't so inept with tools, I'd replace it with a pocket door.

And now, I'm painting the cut edges in place, with the hinges on because I'll be damned if I'm taking everything apart again.

I put in a bi-fold door leading to the upstairs as my wife wanted to be able to keep the cats out. I am not good with tools and there was no door jamb. I managed to do it, but it won't win any awards for looking good.
