I can't believe I've never heard of this one (heads off to netflix...)

Would The Librarian movies fall into this category?

I'm going with Romancing the Stone but I'm skeptical that it's held up well.

Depends on your definition of knockoff...

How about this one?

The only thing I remember about National Treasure was the torture my bladder endured after being tricked by multiple false endings. I finally decided I had enough and made a run for the restroom, and missed the actual ending.

Tales of the Gold Monkey? (tv series '82-'83)

Romancing the Stone is a family favorite. But Jewel of the Nile can straight fuck itself.

I don't think I've seen Romancing the Stone since the 80s, so like dmn23 I was wondering if it held up today. Glad to know it's still enjoyable.

I went to see Jewel of the Nile when it was released and it was a straight-up ball of shit.
