Bass VI or Baritone

The cool tool thread got me thinking. If your going to go low end, which is better suited for spaghetti western \ surf music?

The bass 6 is an octave lower so it's easier to transpose guitar lines, but with a 30" scale length the lower strings lose that cool snappy quality that the baritone has.

The baritone gets 2.5 steps lower than a standard guitar, but not quite low enough for the bass lines.

I've never played either, but I'm intrigued.
Thoughts?

Jp, Do you find the baritone opens up new ideas or do you play it more like a standard guitar then use a bass for bass lines?

I have a Schecter Hellcat VI - Schecter's version of the Bass VI.

I love it. It's a riff-generating machine for me.

I just use the baritone for not having to listen to shrill high notes. Blues and fingerpicking can sound really nice 2.5 steps down. And I like doom metal.
