I had to get my friend to go with me since I don't drive, but it's safely in my home now. It's a Roland TD17KVX2. Everything works! A little dirty and some wear but it's perfectly good for my needs. I got it for $760 including the stool, hihat stand, and kick pedal (which aren't included if you buy it new...)

I was looking at that kit, but MF did that stupid deal on the Simmons kit. I just couldn't pass it up.

Cool. I have a 20+ year old TD6k which apart from a somewhat wonky input at times is still rocking.

I did test drive a handful of new Roland kits over the Summer including that one but none of them wowed me but that model you have definitely had the best sounds out of the box so with tweaking it'll probably sound great.
