Back in the 80s...

...folks used to go to the mall. In most malls, there was a shop called Glamor Shots, where people (mostly women) could go and get a makeover, get their hair teased up real big, and pose for photos with splashy backgrounds usually shot with a soft focus. Often outfits with plenty of bling were added to increase the amount of glamor, and subjects were directed to be provacative. The photos have not aged well.

That's the kinda hairdoos they used to have in the pronos back in the day too....back when they still had pool cleaner story lines and Pizza delivery storylines....

My senior yearbook pic was taken at Glamor Shots. lol
And my father is a pro photographer! What a jerk.

This is all quality work.

One of my best friends in HS had a cousin that was a hair stylist. After a night of partaking, she convinced him to let her give him a perm. It came out a lot like that, and his HS senior picture was a few days later. He never got another perm, but that photo will live forever in the yearbook.

Heh, yeah I remember Glamour Shots.

Seems like that might still be a viable business. They could update the looks of course.

It seems the big thing now is boudoir photos; women posing in provocative poses in sheer nightgowns. That and "stranger sessions", basically just a couples shoot. BUT. The “couple” has never met, spoken to, or seen their counterpart! They don't see each other until literally right before they start shooting. A great idea during a pandemic...

I have wavy hair, and it was even wavier when I was younger. In college I tried to get something done to make it a bit more controllable. It ended up being a perm. All picture have been burned and the ashes scattered over multiple continents.
