Anyone have a swirl-dip finished guitar?

Ron did a series of guitars... with each one being a different element of nature.


I think the one above is air... because the water one was over a blue basecoat... then the magma was all reds, orange, etc... and I know the earth one was greens/brown/gold.
 
I remember back in the 90s, maybe, G&L offered ASATs in some swirl finishes (I think they called them bowling ball finishes). I always rather liked them.

I really like the Ron Thorns where they bursted over the finish.

I remember back in the 90s, maybe, G&L offered ASATs in some swirl finishes (I think they called them bowling ball finishes). I always rather liked them.

I know Fender called swirl-dipped "bowling ball" when they did a run in '84.

But to me, G&L is a true bowling ball finish...

Fender had a run of them a few years back, and I really wanted a Tele.
 
I've always loved them. I have some friends that do swirl dips for their gaming PC cases or consoles, but none have done it to a guitar themselves.
