Anyone Got Plans For An Ark?

Since early this afternoon we have got between 7.5 and 10 inches of rain. Flash flooding, roads closed. Water over 3 feet deep in places. Came home during the storm and expressway speeds were 25 mph and everyone was running with their 4 ways on because visibility was about 100 yards. Police radio was going crazy as everyone was trying to borrow any spare squads or firetrucks. Lot of trees down. Still raining but now it's just a hard steady rain and you can see for blocks. I know California and Montana would love it but there is such a thing as too much.

Rain Mojo.

We could definitely use some, but not like that.

We had a really great view of the massive thunderstorm with crazy amounts of lightning that was out over the desert just beyond Palomar Mountain the other night. Crazy as it sounds, the only place it rains in the summertime around here is the damned desert. Go figure.

I think we’re getting that system here now.
Forecast is rain all day and night, ending at around 6 am tomorrow.
It will be off and on, but at times torrential. There’s tornado warnings too. Rare for this area.

I think we're at about 5.5 inches or 6.5 for the whole year...in teh desert.....so no I have no plans for an Ark *spits*

Here ya go.

that's a lot of water....flooding mojo....

We had a brief torrential downpour last week were we got 1 1/2 inches of rain in about an hour and I thought that was bad....

I've got a sister on the East Side (Blair), a sister-in-law in Stoughton, my parents just off the Capitol Square, and a lot of friends in the Middleton > Spring Green area. So far, all have checked in as OK.

The USS Oregon(BB3), a 19th century battleship developed from the Indiana class, was built to roughly the same proportions as Noah's Ark...it was renowned for its stability and sea-keeping abilities...

after almost 2 months of very little rain, we'll have made up for it last week and this week and maybe into next week.
[facepalm]

Floods mojo. Hope your house, place of business etc. are not in danger of taking on water.

Big +1

I lost a job in the flooding down here and my folk's house went under. They got a new place, but are still dealing issues I won't get into here related to that experience.

2 years later I'm still working on flooded houses.

The highway 14 area between Middleton and Spring Green was hit the worst. Cross Plains was calling for swift water rescue boats. I heard they had 800 evacuated to the high school. Mazomanie was calling for help to sand bag the fire station. Heard they're dragging food out of Whole Foods on University due to a couple of feet of water in the store. At least 1 dead in Madison. Places I go to all the time are in the middle of a lake. My town was on the north edge so we didn't get hit too hard. Mostly fallen branches and trees. City crew was around this afternoon grinding up branches.
