Alternative pizza topping question...

OK, I know many of you are offended by the deliciousness that is pineapple on pizza. Personally, I love it from time to time. That said, I'm not here to talk about pineapple. I'm here to talk about figs. Two of my favorite local pizza places have a riff on a fig and prosciutto pizza - one with blue cheese and caramelized onions, the other with mozzarella and arugula. Neither has red sauce, to be clear - in both cases it's a white pie with fig jam and prosciutto. It's a wonderful take on the sweet and savory combo, and I love it.

Would you try it?

There's a place around here that does that. Figs are rare enough in restaurants here that I can't imagine getting sick of them. I planted a fig tree last year with a decent fruit set, but I don't know if they'll ripen in time. Eventually, I'll have enough to eat and preserve for the year.

Have eaten something just like it and enjoyed

Ill will try just about any topping combo

We had Indian Pizza the other day, really good. I would have to ask our friends what the names were but I think one was Mattar Paneer another was Palak Paneer and the third was Aloo Gobi.

I wonder if they'll grow to size on the tree and then ripen on the windowsill like tomatoes or bananas.

I'd try it and probably like it but I heavily lean towards tha meatz on a pizza. I like a good salami or capicola with pepperoni.

You must be one of the many people who make it nearly impossible for me to find chicken salad that doesn't have fucking grapes, apples, or goddamned cranberries in it.

I have had a fig and prosciutto pizza and it was outstanding. I have also had arugula on pizza - again - excellent.
