Hey John, saw these pickups for sale and thought of you. These are similar to the ones you got a while back, right? I thought you might want to know about another set that was for sale. I know these are covered, and your others were not open coil, but it might still be something that interests you.

Yeah, not my thing...and not for that kind of money, but I though John might care about these.
 
thanks so much... a bit pricey. baimun has a set and loves them. I love my 5909's though... they scream while remaining nice and articulate!!!
 
AH, it was the 5909s that you were raving about. I don't know much about PRS pickups, and I thought from the description that these might be the uber rare pickups that so impressed you.
 
I love the 5708s in my Sunburst 22. These are priced a bit high - when I got a spare set from PRS a while back during their free pickup promo, they sold for $325, which has been about the going rate over at Birds and Moons....

I spent $400 a while ago on a set up uncovered 5909's... I found out talking to a tech at PRS that they are incredibly rare as PRS never offered them to the public, nor does it plan to. That being said, someone offered me $500 for them over at Birds and Moons... crazy

Not to me... To me, $400 for a set of pickups is pretty fucking ridiculous... $1200 for a set of pickups with silver wire is pretty pretty pretty fucking fucking fucking ridiculous ridiculous ridiculous...

if you're the kind of person to spend $1200 on pickups, then $400 seems reasonable. nobody i know is that type of person though.
