A Quarter Century Of Old Tunes

Stealing Your Riffs
We covered 2000 to 2024 in that other thread. That means we have to move backwards to cover a different quarter century of music.

List 10 (no more than 10 nerds) favorite albums released between 1/01/1974 and 12/31/1999. List using your words. No particular order required.

Post pics or videos if you want. Folk those individuals on AOL dial up! They can sit and wait for their screens to load.

Post albums meaningful to you however you define it. Please try not to pick the same band or artist more than once for your list. Mix it up. Thanks.

I’ll come back to post mine. I need time to think about it.

(edit) I tried to type out the first album that came to mind in each year. I made a list. It’s certainly not some definitive list. I still don’t have a list of only 10. I may just have to pick 10 at random from this larger list.

I don't have to tell you what happened in 1989.

I'm not ashamed to admit I grab a makeshift mic and sing along to this Chercago classic.

So only allowed 10 and try not to repeat artists.... (crap, Mraz's "Sing, Dance, Break Things is 2008...) But I'm just going to pull 10 significant albums from my own personal timeline:

1975 - Queen : A Night at the Opera
1976 - Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life (just edged out Dirty Deeds by AC/DC)
1977 - John Williams : Star Wars Soundtrack
1980 - Police : Zenyatta Mondatta (Coin flip on this or Back in Black... both were significant to me)
1981 - Van Halen : Fair Warning
1986 - Metallica : Master of Puppets
1987 - Prince : Sign O the Times (thought about Surfing with the Alien for a hot second, but SOtT is my all time personal favorite album).
1990 - Gary Moore : Still Got the Blues (struggled between this and Ah Via Musicom)
1991 - Red Hot Chili Peppers : Blood Sugar Sex Magik
1996 - Sublime : Sublime (aha!... I was able to move Jamiroquai to the 2000+ list! :helper: )
