And it also comes in a Nylon string version with a Cedar top:

I've played a ton of these...nice guitars for short cash. They are small and sound a little boxy, but that's what they are.
The spruce, cedar and laminate tops all sound quite a bit different.

The S&P version sounds way better, though.

I'd really like to try the Nylon one. Our local dealer had a Vintage Burt for awhile and it was a fun little guitar.

Parlor guitars are cool! yeah, I'd give one a spin. I tried one of these at the local Godin dealer (Cream City Music - Art & Lutherie is a Godin brand). It was a pretty nice guitar. But, like most parlor guitars, it sounded better (as in un-boxy) with fingerstyle playing.

I played a couple of those a while back and was not impressed. Very boxy and dead sounding, but they also more than likely had dead strings, and the boxiness is partly a product of the design. Not my thing.....

It's definitely a certain sound that works well for somethings and not so well for others. But for mid-heavy, folk-style or or country-blues it's a great sound.

Our one and only music store stocks those and other Godin acoustics. I like the Seagulls even more.

The only thing I don't like about Seagulls (other than the slightly monstrous neck) is they seem to all be dreads. I'm into smaller body guitars these days, especially for recording.

I'll keep my solid spruce top A&L, thanks. I demo'ed over 10 under-$500 acoustics, and it won on pure, rich tone.

Besides, mine has butt dimples!
