The natural one is ash and pretty old. The black/sunburst is alder and new. The sunburst is being made into a Marty Stuart tribute. When the owner finishes them I’ll get pictures.

Do you prefer honeycomb or slot lightening? Note that the f holes are present even though the top is solid.

Seems like you kinda have to do the honeycomb with the f hole. I also think the honeycomb looks cooler, but no one is gonna see that. So yeah, whichever one is lightest.

My guess, is they just route them all that way, then they only have to have 1 honeycomb route and 1 slot route.

Well, the honeycomb just looks a little more orderly. As if that matters since nobody is gonna see it. I gotta try playing a b-bender one of these days. I'm a huge Marty Stuart fan, myself.
