I managed to get out to the auction house yesterday and pick up the broken neck guitar. I actually was bidding on this in a prior auction but it got too high for my interest level.
Seems that it got refused by the previous winner because of the broken neck and here it is.

That guff on the body is just fingerprints and packaging stuff. It’ll clean up with regular guitar cleaner stuffs.

Yep. It’s a Donner. The string spacing is better than it looks here. This pic is from a bit of an angle.

Here’s the break under string tension. It was in the box like that.

And then with the strings loose.

It’s already glued up and in a caul and clamps. Super easy repair. It will take more work to clean it up than it took to fix.

Overall, it’s not a horrible guitar. There are some flaws in the finish as well as some aftermarket dings here and there.
The tuners feel like crap, but I’ll see how they hold once it’s all fixed up. If I don’t have to touch them much to keep in tune, I don’t really care how they feel.

It came with a gig bag and a strap. The original kit included a guitar cord, but that’s gone missing. I don’t think I’m overly concerned :P.

Someone remind me about this in a couple of days so that I don’t forget to unclamp it.

It will need a once-over before play time. The fingerboard is really dry. It might need some truss rod tweaks.
Really though, nothing that any guitar doesn’t need when new. Even if the factory does a great setup, that still needs to be done after manufacturing is complete. This is no different other than when it gets done and by whom.

They’re totally blowing their opportunity by making LP style guitars. With that name they should be making brutal pointy guitars.

It plays fine now.

I’ve got a bit of cleanup to do with the glue squeeze out and then a quick setup, but I gave it a test run today and it functions.
The glue that is there is pretty much in cowboy chord territory and I almost don’t feel it most of the time.

A lot of the glue just flaked of off the finish, which was nice.

There’s a bit of a ridge right at the repair, and even though you can still see the remaining finish, I can’t feel the ridge anymore after some light sanding with 320 grit.

I just need to figure out what finish is on there so that I can do some touch up.
Any clues?
