Here is a like new Fender 60th Anniversary Lite Rosewood Telecaster from the 2011 Tele-bration series. Still has the plastic on the pickguard and was purchased as a collector’s item. Includes OHSC and all case candy.
Fender experimented with a Rosewood Telecaster design in the late 1960s. A very few of the exceptionally heavy guitars were produced, most famously the one played by George Harrison at the Beatles’ famed “rooftop concert” of Jan. 30, 1969, in London.
Fender’s Lite Rosewood Telecaster evokes that elusive instrument and greatly lightens the weight by sandwiching a dark-stained spruce body core between a rosewood top and back.
On its 1951 introduction, the Telecaster was a revolutionary instrument that would usher in whole new eras of musical innovation and excitement. Sixty years later, in 2011, it is an archetypal electric guitar with a long and storied history. The rich history of Fender
guitars begins with the Telecaster, and Fender is celebrating its 60th anniversary all year with 12 very special “Tele-bration” models that stay inside the Telecaster’s famously elegant lines while offering the finest and most unusual takes on the instrument’s past, present and future.
