Do we agree with this? First off the have bands like Ratt who IS NOT heavy metal so I think what RS meant was "hard rock mixed with heavy metal"

anyway Holy Diver is in the top 10 at least but they got Celtic Frost Procreation of the wicked at 50 which should be much much higher (they have Ratt higher than Celtic Frost :rolleyes:

It’s a genre more defined by performance, arrangement choices, sensibility, and recording choices. I’m not sure how many great metal standards there are beyond the collected works of Ozzy-era Sabbath. I mean fucking “Break Stuff” is maybe the most memorable metal song of the last 25 years.

I’ll concede that Metallica’s 2nd and 3rd albums were mostly alright.

Metal’s best feature was its roots in UK folk music. Then idiots severed that relationship as if it was a flaw. Without it, it’s unintentionally cartoonish and pretentious.
