"Patrick Stewart will return as Professor Charles Xavier in his final film role.
Stewart died at the age of 86 on Wednesday after battling Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia. His death comes less than two months before the release of Avengers: Doomsday (Dec. 18), which will see Stewart reprise his role as Professor X.
The upcoming film will mark the first Avengers installment to fold in the X-Men. Stewart’s role was announced in March 2025 alongside the casting of his fellow X-Men costars Ian McKellen (Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto), Alan Cumming (Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and James Marsden (Scott Summers/Cyclops)." ~ ENTERTAINMENT
