Remember in the early 90s, as the MTV era was moving from music videos to "reality" TV shows, but artists were still compelled to put out videos to support their albums? Also remember when Peter Gabriel had those two hit videos from his So album that used stop action animation? And right about that time, Donald Fagen was putting out solo albums that were not selling near as well as anything with the Steely Dan name attached to it. Then someone from the record company thought it would be a great idea to combine all of these things into a stop-action music video in support of his Kamakriad album, but made sure it featured his handsome face.
...and when that didn't work, they decided to employ Rick Moranis in another music video from that same album?
None of this was necessary. Fagen's releases are always top notch.
