    Phil Collins v Peter Gabriel

Peter. By a good measure. I like Phil, and appreciate what he brought to Genesis and even some of his solo material. Peter just has the voice, the songwriting chops, and the catalogue. His live shows are absolutely killer too.

Question: One artist you're really glad you got to see

John Prine. He was always one of my dad’s favorite songwriters, so I was psyched that we got to go see him play solo at one of the nicest theaters in the state before my dad passed. Then two years ago one of my best friends called me out of the blue with a spare ticket to see him with his band...

    NGD - Danelectro U2

Hey all. Long time, no post. Hope everybody is well. Just wanted to share this one with people who might care. You guys are all cool and I hate Facebook right now. With a bit of sleuthing I’ve arrived at this being a ‘98 Dano U2 reissue, MIK. It’s really hard to capture the color, but it’s a...

    It's 1985: what's your beer of choice?

Dad drank green bottled beers as long as I could remember. Heineken, Moosehead, Molson, and Rolling Rock, so probably one of those. When I started drinking in 92 it was the cheapest thing on the shelf. Almost nothing but craft brews for me these days.

    What's your strap of choice?

Mostly Couch luggage vinyl straps. I like the Racer X style straps, and have several that get swapped around depending on what guitars I’m using. My Jazzmaster has a Souldier strap that I love the design on.

WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO....RIGHT NOW Mk II

Listening to the released today “Snapshot of a Beginner” by Nap Eyes. Solid indie rock stuff. Dream pop, even?

Can we talk about bass stuff?

I’ve always liked my DOD FX25 Env. Filter for guitar. While I don’t see myself using it for this project, now I’m curious how it would sound on bass.

Can we talk about bass stuff?

The bass player in my other band (the one who sold me my Frankenbass) is also trying to sell me on a Guild Starfire. Late 90’s, so a late RI build. Carvin bass amps seem to be a good value.

Can we talk about bass stuff?

    1. I honestly don’t have a set budget for any of this stuff. My MO has generally been to sell shit off that I’m not using to fund new stuff that I’m excited about RIGHT NOW. So, I will have some guitar and drum stuff up on the chopping block in short order probably. I definitely want a fairly...

Can we talk about bass stuff?

That site is fun! :) Prior to picking up the Ampeg, I had a Peavey TNT 1x15. It actually sounded OK and I'm pretty sure it would have survived a nuclear blast. I hated moving the thing on the few occasions I had to, though. I'm figuring class D amps and neodymium speakers have made for big...

Can we talk about bass stuff?

Which comp and fuzz do you use? I like the look of the MarkBass stuff. It wasn't really on my radar at all.

Can we talk about bass stuff?

My old singer just moved back to town after years of living on the west coast. He's one of only a few old bandmates that's continued to make a career of music. So after playing a bunch of solo shows around here, he's decided to put a trio together and asked me to play bass. It's been a while. I...

    ok which wireless unit?

As an audio guy who depends on wireless working flawlessly, I usually recommend getting the best Shure unit you can afford.
