Hot or Not - Breedlove prototype

Here are the photos of the other model they rolled out at NAMM when the electrics first came out.

Hot or Not - Breedlove prototype

I seem to recall that the proposed retail on that Breedlove was going to be about $4000. I played them at NAMM the year the unveiled them and they were really nice guitars but Breedlove was never able to get their foot through the door of the electric market. They had a much more elaborate...

    Now which one to buy?

I did a lot of research on the A6 when Hello Music was blowing them out. I really like the concept a lot but what I found were a lot of meh reviews and owners who were less than blown away. I'd still like to try one in person but based on the reports I don't think I'd be willing to buy one...

Hot or Not - Rick Toone Custom

There is probably not a single builder on the planet whose guitars I would rather try than Rick Toone's.

Two guitars I didn't buy today

Really simple answer to this one ... first the body is not really a LP. It's bigger and it's a slab with no carved top. Second, (and this one will also answer USian Pie's question), the way to make it work is to take it as far from a Les Paul as possible. My plan was to configure it with a...

Two guitars I didn't buy today

This was being blown out by Warmoth. Great price, right configuration, right weight. My credit card sat on my desk all day while I was dithering. Apparently I dithered too long and it sold before I cold make a decision. This one I had open in my browser since Saturday. in the end I just...

Can anyone tell me details on the modern Danelectro baritones?

I assume you're referring to the PRS version. There used to be an Ibanez as well and it got great reviews when it came out. I wonder if anyone's played both of them?

Can anyone tell me details on the modern Danelectro baritones?

I play a lot of hours and I'm beyond getting on in age. I set a 7lb limit for myself a long time ago and it's worked out for me pretty well. And thanks again to Howie. It's always good to hear it from someone who's got one.

Can anyone tell me details on the modern Danelectro baritones?

Thanks. Neck Heavy doesn't work for me. For 27", I'd just use some old left over Swan parts. And after considering a few baritones,I'm pretty sure that's what I'm going to do. I was originally leaning towards one of the Hagstrom Viking Bari's but they're in the 9 lb range and I don't think I...

Can anyone tell me details on the modern Danelectro baritones?

There are lots of Danelectro baritones being sold but not a lot of real details. There seem to be four basic models: the Wild Thing, 56 reissue, Silvertone-style double cut; and Hodad. Am I correct that the scale length is 28 3/4 on all of them? What is the weight like? Do they neck...

Hot or Not - DANNY GATTON SIGNATURE TELECASTER®

Subbing in Bil Lawrence pickups is totally bogus. The Barden's were a huge part of the voice of Gatton's guitar. I've played a couple from the original run. They weren't my favorite CS Fenders. The zirconium markers were a bit silly and tended to fall out fairly quickly and the guitar was...

Dig it! I think I want a Baritone guitar now.

7-strings were where we began. In fact, the only reason I got into this silly business was because no one was building a 7-string that I wanted to play. I figured we'd build three guitars and sell two. I'd get mine free and that would be the end of it. It's now about 350 guitars later and...

Dig it! I think I want a Baritone guitar now.

You can pick up one of those Hagstrom Viking Baritones with a little shop wear for about $600.

Alllright! Which is Cooler? Reverent Club King or Baritone Tele?

From a functional standpoint, I consider that body shape to be the most successful design that I've come up with in the ten years that we've been operating. Unfortunately, it's a design that requires a substantial investment in things like wider billets, custom cases, custom boxes etc. That...
