Second day of being sick with I don't know what. I had to pick up our 12 year old from school for something similar.
I just burned up 22 hours of vacation/sick time I've been saving for a summer vacation, leaving no balance. :mad:

I love hearing about people adopting dogs. I need to occasionally know that my wife and I aren't crazy for doing the same. :embarrassed:

We have 4 adoptions/rescues. A very sweet chihuahua (I can't believe I'd ever like one), a terrier-poodle mix that was found in a plastic trash bag with his sister, a Rhodesian ridgeback-whippet mix, and a now 14 year old greyhound we adopted from the ranch after her second litter was weaned. The greyhound is very close to the end. We may have to put her down soon. :(

Tig - we were pretty much decided to get a rescue dog. I don't you know the history here, as I mainly talked about it over on HCEG. But we lost 2 of our 3 family dogs between Halloween, and just after Thanksgiving last year. Lost 2 dogs in less than a month's time. We had to put Lamb Chop, our White German Shepherd down within a week of being diagnosed with heart failure. We maxed out heart medication, but she was failing quickly. Two weeks after we had to put Lamb down, we got Sasha, 1/2 Shepherd & Lab, from the Humane Society. A couple weeks after we got Sasha, Leah, our husky died of what we believe was a heart attack. She died on our bed right in front of us. I hope the best for your Greyhound. I expect you will find friends, and support here. From me for sure.

I lost my Dad a couple years ago - complications from cancer, but I swear loosing my two beloved dogs was harder on me.
 
I gathered a few pieces about your recent dog losses. A late condolences to you. I fully understand what it feels like, unfortunately.
Take good care of your new Sheltie. We found a lost one a few years ago and managed to find her owners fairly quick. She was a very sweet gal.

That reminds me... We also found this pair that escaped their yard and got them back home the next day. The boxer was really cool.

Getting deeper, and deeper into classical search. Apparently, the difference between playing a steel acoustic, and an electric, and playing classical is like the difference between driving a car, an riding in a hot air balloon. Need to talk to son's guitar teacher, and see what he knows. Not looking forward to it but, may need to find a new teacher. Good luck with that where I live.

Very occaisionaly I pickup the one acoustic I have and play that. Very different.

WFH today. We have a couple inches of snow on the ground- 3 or so more coming.

In Sheltie News: Skye, the rescue dog, will get dropped off to us on Saturday at 1:30 PM.
 
I'm kind of missing the snow. As much of a PITA as it is, its 60's and rainy here today. That's not February to me. It just seems wrong.

I have a classical but I don't play classical music. I don't even play it correctly but I dig the difference . My regular playing is in a huge barre chord rut. Nothing makes you want to break a barre chord rut like playing a wide fretboard with high action. My classical is a 1966 Yamaha with a solid cedar top. I think I paid $150 for it a few years ago.

No calls yet today, so I'm in the basement playing my new Epi LP Standard Plus Pro :thu: (yeah, Woody - the one that is on sale at AMS or $399 :wink:). Fatter neck than the Custom, but still plays wonderfully. New strings; needs a teeny bit of tweaking. This guitar, good as it is, may be the subject of an upcoming experiment...muuuuaaaaaahahahahahahaaaaaaaa!!!!! stirthepot
 
Mawnin.... SPent some time making a head and 2 cabs.

The B-52 head was a 2 x 12 combo. B-52 helped me track down an AT100 head face plate. Pretty simple swap, just needed to reverse the inputs and the 2 toggles.
Each speaker in the B52 (bad ass by the way) is 120 watts each, so I decided to use 1 for the B52 and 1 for the Windsor.

I used some solid pine to make the cabs (thanks hot woman on rehab addict), and stained them with ebony. Not sure if I will cover the speakers. I kind of like the modern / old school look.

Yesterday we fired up the cnc machine with Ubuntu linux for the first time! getting closer!
