Did I tell you guys that I know one of the founders of that Noah's Ark thing?

I had an IT consulting call where I had to investigate to fix and optimize a company's network. When I met the owner of the company he had this big model of the Ark in a big glass case in his office. It was kind of neat... until I realized HOW SERIOUSLY he was taking it. :messedup: I almost couldn't keep a straight face when he said they were going to build an amusement park around it. I thought "ain't nobody going to spend Disney level dollars to go see your Sunday school story build."

The ultimate deal breaker was when we presented our findings and our quote, he called in their sole IT guy who they were worried had all the keys to the castle and wouldn't let go of them, but then tried to act like he wasn't the one who asked for us to deep dive their network. I bit my tongue during the meeting... but when I got out to the parking lot, I turned to my boss and said "I doubled the original quote just because I know that shit's not going to end well... and if we end up getting this dude as a client, you're going to have to stick another engineer on the account. I'm not getting in the middle of a pissing match with a dishonest preacher type because it would end with me telling him exactly how I feel about that bullshit and his silly boat." :mad:

Fortunately my boss was on the same page and said that he wasn't going to accept them as clients even if they agreed to the quote.

Found it hysterical when they actually built the Ark Theme Park and then struggled to find people who were willing to pay to attend. :helper:
