I don’t eat there often….. but when I do, it’s always the #12 Beach Club add hot peppers. :baimun:

I've just never understood JJ or Subway. Lunch meat on bread? No thanks, I can do that myself a lot cheaper.

But, I do love the free smells sign.

Better than Subway, not as good as a real sandwich place. I wouldn't go there just because it's new, but it's a decent option if you need a day lunch.

We have a JJ’s about a mile away from here. It’s rare that we eat there. It’s not terrible. It’s just nothing to write home about.

For subs in town, we prefer the local deli or Jersey Mike’s.

I used to every once in a while until I found out the owner is one of those big game hunter A-holes.

He’s also just a general purpose a-hole. Jimmy John’s was founded where I went to college and Jimmy John was still around at the time. He would consistently fuck up sandwiches and my bro-in-law got in a fender bender with him and he was a tool about it.

Also, their sandwiches are sloppy and not that great.

Here’s my other gripe with Big Dumb Libertarian Sandwich. Their big advantage in ye olde Chucktown, IL was that they stayed open super late and would deliver a sandwich to your inebriated self at like 3AM. So, like, if you tired of eating Topper’s/Chubby’s heart-destroying Cheesestix, you could go all big spender and buy an overpriced sandwich with at least 50% of your requested toppings and condiments.

My tight bro from way back still lives in Chucktavia and I’m down in the old college town often enough. It’s a smaller place where there’s not much distinction between college night life and old people night life so, when in Rome you wander around all night and shut down the bars and then your sorry drunk ass needs something to sop up all the CVS-brand vodka and corn soda you’ve ingested. So, your middle aged self goes and stands in line at the big shiny new Jimmy John’s flag ship all “how do you do, fellow kids” to get your sloppy $9 sandwich.

The sonsabitches have started closing before the bars get out and the afterbars kids have rolled through for food in route to drinking in a disgustingly carpeted apartment in hopes of a furtive handjob/fingerblasting on the dirtiest sofa in North America.

MISTER JOHNS, YOU HAD ONE JOB. This old ass man cannot put a single vegan Insomnia Cookie on top of a 10mg edible and who knows how much dubious alcohol and hope for the best. I need a soggy tortilla full of sorry-ass guacamole and lettuce and a side of chips. I’m not 20 anymore. I need sustenance. WTF?!?! INAPPROPRIATE!!!!

the only one i ever get, and that's very once in a while, is the Vito (salami, capcola & prov)
i get it without the tomato, only because they slice their tomatos almost 1/2" thick and that's WAY too much.
i get it to go, and go home and put on some nice thin tomato slices.
i like their buns ok.
way better than subway and WAY less nitrates that jersey mike's.

they ain't Lock, Stock & Barrel, but then nothing else is!!!
(btw, a half= 8" and a whole = 16"!!! )

We happened upon a Jimmy John’s in the Toronto area and gave it a shot.

Nothing noteworthy about it except maybe the price.

Mine sat in a hotel fridge for the evening as a reserve in case the company holiday party was just snacks and such. It was. The food was fantastic but sparse unless you hovered over one of the stations. I mean, a slice of a tomahawk steak is delicious, but doesn’t fill a guy up.

So, when I got to the sub, the bun was as tough as a shoe. I’ll own that as I did decide to let it sit, but I did still expect something edible.

I added some Jimmy peppers to it and it ruined the sandwich. I like hot peppers. It was just too much. Every bite was overly spicy. I could barely taste the rest of the sandwich.

I’m not one to fuss about price, but I can get a much better sub for a lot less.

Jersey Mike's is my favorite sandwich chain. It's pricey though. Ours offers half off the second Giant after 5 though.

I think that tomorrow I’ll lunch at Potbelly. I haven’t been to one of those in far too long. It reminds me of the coinciding Y2K fads of overpaid tech workers (guilty) and hot sandwich restaurants. The office gang went to Potbelly often.

But what I really miss is Quiznos. It’s a shame that Quiznos was really some kind of insane investment scam because the food was delicious.

Quiznos is still around, although they are much smaller with fewer locations. They currently have locations in 34 states. In Colorado, there is 1 location in Littleton and 3 locations in Denver, including DIA.
