A friend got one and I like it. It is just a bigger version of my iTouch. The funny thing is that if they had put the iPad out first, then offered the "micro" version that does the same thing as the "big one", the micro/iTouch would be the sought after one. Marketing is such a crazy bitch.

when people say its a bigger ipod touch, it's not fully true, but for the most part, it is, and thats the point. The screen makes all the difference. I watched youtube videos and a movie on one and that, in itself, was unreal, and with 30 bucks unlimited non contract media, if you travel a bunch or just think lounging with a laptop is uncomfortable, this things is so money its unbelievable.

Stealing Your Riffs
My wife was looking to switch from books to one of those digital readers (Sony or Kindel). Then, she read an article about the Ipad being a great reader that's color plus more. I realize the Ipad doesn't simulate a page like the readers, but I think I'd prefer the IPad in this case as well for reading digital books. My wife doesn't appreciate when I call it the MaxIpad.

it's way better than other readers, not only because of how vivid and easy on the eye it is, but because it internet capable, contains an ipod, and has a plethora of apps to choose from among many other things.

We both have Iphones, but she barely uses hers. We don't think she'll use 3G on the Ipad, so we're planning on getting one without 3G. Anyway, the two places she'll use it most, have much faster ISP than any 3G. If she traveled a lot, I think I'd want her to get the 3G though.
